I have removed the sim card and cleaned it and also switched the pone off and on again, still same problem

1. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

2. Get new SIM card.

If this happened just after updating or restoring the phone, your phone may have been hacked to carrier unlock it and became re-locked to its origninal carrier and will no longer work with your SIM.
