So my husband and I both have iPhones 4s with updated OS. I've added the emoji keyboard.
When he sends a text to me using emoticons, he can see it being sent but what I receive is only an empty text bubble.
The same happens when I send an emoticon to him.
Just some additional info...
When I use my iPhone to send a message to my iPad or iPad to iPhone, emoji works.
But not between me and my husband's iPhones.
If you're using the Emoji keyboard, chances are they only work on iOS. Try a simple : ) which may or may not show up on phones depending on their program. Other than this, if you use Facebook Messenger, its emotions will show up on almost all devices, but for text messaging it is dependant on the phone and for email, it depends on the email service and/or the program being used to view it.
Thanks. I think it has something to do with my carrier not supporting it. Is that possible?
Because when using iMessage between the 2 iphones, the emoticons show. But when using the network carrier to send emoticons via SMS, it doesn't show.
