Laptop with 10.7.4 eratic cursor jumping when typing

When typing on my laptop, my cursor will eratically jump to a previous location. I have been unable to track down a fix for this proble. My OS is 10.7.4. The

Magic Trackpad and Multi-Touch Trackpad Update 1.0 does not support 10.7.4

MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
