Macbook Pro retina squeaky noise

I've just noticed a squeaky noise in my Macbook Pro retina. When you press the bottom lid you can hear it. It sounds like rusty small springs. My old 13" MBP never made this sound but I know there are springs on the motherboard to keep the distance between the lid and the board. Is this something someone else is experiencing? I mean if my old $1199 13" Macbook Pro didn't have this noise although the same type of springs, shouldn't my Macbook Pro retina $2199 be free of this noise too? I know that this will probably not give me any problems in the future but imo a computer for $2199 shouldn't squeak when you have it your knees and it's quite annoying.

Here's a picture of the springs on the motherboard

yeah.. you're lucky. I bought mine from a Apple "premium" reseller.. They wanted to take mine into service and then see if it should be replaced or not. If they'll replace it I can't have mine during the time the other one's getting shipped instead it should be lying on their workshop untill the new one arrives... But I called Apple and they said that if I bought directly from them from the website then they could replace it for me. In my country (Sweden) we don't have any Apple stores.

Hello!

I´m from sweden and have the same problem with mine, the cracking in the middle and if you turn the device and just gently touch the bottom then it will squeak. Even laying your hand on the device while typing make sounds on the chassi. The hole thing seams of mediocre build compared to my 13 inch that i sadly sold. Anyway i called apple and they placed an order for a replacement one wich is a very nice gesture, but i would really want to know if the new one you got is of the same quality or if it´s more strongly build.

Thank you very much Skater :-)

Yes, when I wrote the original response about getting the new one I didn't take it out of the box. Now that I'm home it does indeed have the issue - it's not as loud as on the previous MBP though. I also had a quick buzzing noise the first time I turned it on for about ten seconds, but then it stopped.

Oh well, no point in returning this one IMO. I guess I'll just hope the palm rests on this thing don't fade right away again.

Okey. So replacing mine would pretty useless? Because the only problem I have with it is the squeaky noise. The rest is beautiful. It runs like a charm. Battery is good, no palmrest fade, no overheating, awesome screen and so forth. What do you think? Is it worth exchanging it for another one with probably the exact same problem?
