"Error 46: Could not load or find the Quicktime ActiveX control"

My Quicktime will not launch. "Error 46: Could not load or find the Quicktime ActiveX control"

Windows 7, 64 bit Used to work fine. Itunes work fine.

I am at a loss and have been unable to find a solution. I have reloaded Quicktime several times.

Any suggestions?

Based on this article it appears to be permissions related and with ActiveX control

When you say reload, does that mean you've uninstalled and reinstalled QuickTime? If not I'd probably try that.

C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTPlugin ocx

C:\Program files\QuickTime\QT System\\QuickTimeCheck ocx

These ocx files are ActiveX controls for QuickTime, you could try taking ownership of them, to see if that may work. ITunes also has ITDetector ocx, ActiveX control
