Q: Nothing found on the Macintosh HD?
My MacBook Pro was acting odd today so I shut it down (by holding down the power button) and when it turned back on, I was brought to the OS X Lion Recovery menu. I tried reinstalling Lion, but after a few hours, it claimed that "an error occurred while preparing the installation", right in the middle of the final install. I tried repairing the disc permissions on Macintosh HD, but it's was at it for a few hours and didn't seem close to done, so I canceleld in order to try something else.
I just attempted to use Target Mode, but when I connected the two computers, several Macintosh HD's popped up on the host's desktop and all of them appeared empty.
I spent about fifteen hours this week working on finishing up a HUGE project. If there's any way I could recover all my information, that'd be fantastic. I have a hard drive back-up with Time Machine, but if I choose this, then I would lose all my work the past week.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much in advance.
