Jul 15, 2012 7:12 PM in response to Sos_Macby KiltedTim,It's toast. If it wasn't jailbroken, take it to the Apple Store and get it replaced. An out of warranty replacement for a 4S is $199.
If it was jailbroken, throw it in the trash and buy a new one.

Jul 15, 2012 8:06 PM in response to Sos_Macby brettl33,No,Dont throw it away. Try all the basic troubleshotting tips.. Does any of the buttons still work? What happens you you plugg it up , does itunes detect it? Also try pressing the home and power butto together to do a hard reset and see if that happens. all that is happeneing is it is doing a verbose boot. Where it shos all the command lines.

Jul 16, 2012 7:45 AM in response to brettl33by Sos_Mac,I'll have to ask my friend to try those... Although it's not looking good. If it doens't work it's not a big deal, he already ordered a replacement.

Jul 26, 2012 8:00 PM in response to Sos_Macby Infrn37,I dropped mine in the pool on Sunday. Completely submerged. I did rice for 24 hours and then placed it between 2 damp rid sachets. I checked it every day and it had the exact same screen as the picture above. Tonight I tried one more time. It stayed on that same screen for about 20 minutes and then miraculously booted up to its former glory.

Mar 4, 2013 8:07 AM in response to orfali972by buckrb79,Place your phone into recovery mode and then restore as new. You will lose everything, but at least it should work for you.

-
Mar 15, 2013 6:00 PM in response to davo1975by KiltedTim,The iPhone is not user servicable. There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts as Apple does not sell parts. There are a whole host of things that could have caused the problem. Most likely is damage to the system board.

Apr 5, 2013 1:11 PM in response to ricofx45by jonfromLV,I had this same issue. I started looking at what I replaced recently and I did a full front screen with the camera. I tried putting the old camera back on and it worked. Seemed to be a hardware failure.
