How can I use a USB webcam on my iMac 21.5" 2011 running OS X Lion rather than the built in camera?

I have an XBox 360 usb camera that I could plug in to my old Mac laptop (running 10.5) and it worked fine. On my new iMac running 10.7.4 it doesn't work. Is anybody working on a driver for USB webcams?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
