formatting error while erasing SD cards

I was in the process of formatting a stack of 30 SDcards with disk utility, the same way I do all the time, which is to insert the card in the sd port on the side of a macbookpro, to erase the partition and format to fat32 because I use the cards for shooting with GOPRO and VIO POVHD cams.

Now, about halfway in the process, disk utility starts to give me this error messageUser uploaded file

And now every card I try to format fails like this. If I try to format the card as opposed to the partition, I end up unformatting the card and it needs to be initialized again. I really didnt change anything, and I cant see all my cards being deffective. I can still play footage straight from the cards, so I suspect something went wrong with the utilitty software.

Any idea how I can fix this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Server

First Re-Boot the system. Then try it again. If it fails again then could be the SD card slot has failed. Go out and buy a SD crad Reader. As to replace and or fix the built in SD card slot mean you need to replace the Logic board, very expensive.

Oh and whatever image you were trying to include doesn't show up. Try inserting the image in the post instead of linking it to some other website.
