Can I upgrade my MacBookPro from Leopard to Lion?

I want to use iCloud for my iPhone but my MBP OS X is Leopard and apparently I need at minimum Lion to make iCloud work.

MacBook Pro (17-inch Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Yep, 10.7.2 at minimum, to be exact.

Buy Snow Leopard ($29): http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A

After you have it installed, go to the Apple menu in the upper left and then Software Update. The reason being, the disk will arrive with version 10.6.3. You want to update it to 10.6.8. This gives you access to the Mac App Store which is needed to download OS X Lion.
