I created "iPhoto library 2" how do I recover the 1st one? does that even mean i still have it? did "iPhoto 2" replace it? was it deleted?

Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

Using the finder drag the one you want to delete to the trash and empty the trash (this can not be undone - be sure you are deleting the correct library)
