Oleophobic Coating Removed by Accident?

I wanted to clean the screen of my iPod touch, so I used FY idoctor lens cleaner for glasses that are made of glass or plastic. I sprayed a bit onto a lint free cloth and wiped the screen with it. The liquid was vanishing quickly(Anybody know what it means??) so I thought I wasn't supposed to use lens cleaner. Did this remove the oleophobic coating?

3 days later, my father wiped the screen with a cloth that was wetted with Kleen-flo industrial glass cleaner. Did this contribute to the removal of oleophobic coating?

I am asking this because my iPod screen seemed a little bit harder to swipe across. My finger would seem to ever so slightly drag whenever I would play FruitNinja. I didn't feel like a smooth glide anymore. Someone please help with this!!!

Apple say:

Clean iPod touch immediately if it comes in contact with any contaminants that may cause stains, such as ink, dyes, makeup, dirt, food, oils, or lotions. To clean iPod touch, disconnect all cables and turn off iPod touch (press and hold the On/Off button, then slide the onscreen slider). Then use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don’t use window cleaners, household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives to clean iPod touch. Rubbing the screen with an abrasive material may scratch the glass.

Yes, you likely remove some of the coating.

- There is no way to recoat the screen. You will have to replace the screen.

- Apple will only exchange the iPod for a refurbished one for this price:

Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing

- A third-party place like the following may be less expensive:

iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens

- I would just live with it and lean.

Well, is there any way to restore the feeling of being able to glide across the screen? And yes, screen protector is on my list. I'm saving up for it. But besides a screen protector.

With a screen protector, your finger glides on the smooth protector. That is what you'll feel.

As to saving up for it, check on eBay or Amazon, you find some that you can buy with the change you find in the couch.
