Must the billing address name match the name on the credit card?

A friend wanted to pre-order two albums for me as a gift, however it seems that you cannot gift pre-orders. So he put his credit card under my account for me. However one question - since we obviously have different names, must my iTunes billing address name match the name on the credit card?

EDIT: Oh and the address too.
