Bounce BouncesMore Than The Recorded Track. Why?

What am I not doing in this swquence? I open a new porject in Logic Pro...I record ( in my case a 30 second VO)...when I go to bounce, the pointer keeps bouncing down the arrangement interface, and bounces the area where no track appears. The track I bounced ended up being 4 minute and 10 seconds long.

30 second of VO and the rest blank space. Why? Why isn't Logic Pro just bouncing the 30 second recording time? Thanks for any help

Got it thanks....one more question...and remember I'm new to Logic and use Logic for VO not music....

My One on One trainer at my apple store set up the launcing of new tracks so that a) the metrome never clicks, and b) under setting where it says general and at the beginning where you can move the beats from 1 to NONE (don't need it for VO work)....., he managed to permanently set it so my track never has the metrome clicking away, and is not delayed by a beat when I press record....He set it up for two tracks.... Unfortunately he did for one, but not the other and no matter where I look I can't find a "apply changes" when I have to open the track that defaults to the 1 beat and MANUALLY I have to change it to NONE....long winded way of saying how can I change the 1 beat to NONE without manually doing it every time I want to use that track? Thanks....I may post this as a separate question so don't be insulted...need an answer asap....
