Can I get more bass sound from my Mac?

I'm sitting here listening to music on my Macbook Pro, and I suddenly realize there is not enough bass (I love me some low sounds). Is there a way to change the EQ for the whole system, not just in iTunes?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Not that I know of. I had some Bose computer speakers with a sub-woofer and got great sound from it. If you're not willing to spend that kind of money, look at either a good pair of headphones with bass boosters (I have a set of Sony's - about $80 that I use when I'm not using my Bluetooth headphones) or look into investing in, say, some Logictech computer speakers with a subwoofer (much cheaper than the Bose!).

Good luck,

Man, those Bose speakers were the best, I'm telling you! They have something very similar now - here. Same price I paid nearly seven years ago. But do an Amazon search for Logitech speakers - here are some for $23, for example, that have a subwoofer.

Anything is better than the built-in speakers - even my Sony "Bass Booster" headphones!
