Q: Why won't the new tv series I bought sync onto my ipod?

I bought two series at once, one synced, the other didn't. There is no error warning, there is enough space on my ipod and I tried to manually sync that programme and it shows up as ready to sync but doesn't transfer. I tried turning off iTunes Helper in my task manager as recommended on another thread but it didn't work. Any ideas??

Thanks

Hi Illaass, I think that link tells me the problem but I can't fix it. The link says:

The iPad and iPhone 4 can play High Definition (HD) content and Standard Definition (SD) content. iPods and the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS can play Standard Definition (SD) content. To find what video formats are supported, see the Tech Specs page, click your device's product family, and then your specific model. All HD purchases from the iTunes Store also include an iPod/iPhone-compatible Standard Definition version to accompany the HD version. When syncing an HD purchase from the iTunes Store, iTunes will automatically sync the SD video for devices that require SD content.

The series I downloaded is in HD and I have an iPod touch - but iTunes doens't automatically sync the SD video for me as it says it will above. Not sure where to go from here.

When buying HD versions of shows, only the HD copy will automatically download now (probably due to requests from people who don't need/want the SD version and complained about it being forced on them). The SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select TV shows. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the shows and be able to download them. You should then be able to sync them to your iPod.

    Regards.

Thanks so much, it took ages (download new iTunes, back up, restore, restart, download the series again) but it worked! Cheers
