Anyone tried the 10.8.1 Patch to see if that resolves, I know it isn't general release yet but certainly being seeded?

I have noticed it is worth with Thunderbolt display, is this common?

Anyone with MBR Not having this problem?

I tried my magic mouse with BT while testing wifi via speedtest.net on windows 7 with bootcamp and I'm guessing it to be a software problem...as while running bootcamp it has not given problems(so far)

Just got my Retina MBP (2.3/16G/512G) today and installed all the patches, updated to 10.8.1, but I still got some interference between bluetooth and WiFi: when I use my Magic mouse, the WiFi can work OK but just very slow, downloading at about 150K per sec while my original MBP 2010 could download at 1.1M per sec, after I turned of my magic mouse, the speed can up to 950K per sec (still 10% slower)... I hope there's further fix for this, I spent a month of my salary on this so for sure I would expect at least everything can work 100% at the same time

    Mambo,

Try moving closer to the wireless router and see if the issue disappears. Another option is to use a dual band router that uses 5 Ghz. That should also help eliminate the issue. Which wireless router are you using btw ?

I use a Netgear WNR3500 2.4G only Router, the Router works perfectly on 2.4G and I just bought it, so I don't wish to get ride of it. I might consider bought a dual band Router as extension next year. Right now I would just use an normal USB mouth at this moment as work around. Just tried it, after I turned off the bluetooth on my rMBP, the issue goes right away, the download speed can go up to 1.1M per sec, some as my previous MBP.

Is anybody know if the issue is adressed in the coming 10.8.1 or 10.8.2 of OSX?

I've tried on the 5 ghz band on the TC, the problem disappear but is the same either on my other 2,4 ghz router or the TC 2,4 ghz band.. So at home, I don't have any more issues but when I'm elsewhere... I have to use a logitech mouse instead of my magic one... so I only have one usb port left and when you consider you've to use on the same time your superdrive and a usb 3.0 HD...

It is a Hardware fault in the Retina models. To save space Apple place both the Wifi card and the BT card on the same daughter card that plugs into the logic board. Clearly they did not test this properly as one interferes with the other.

So you think it cannot be solved with an update?

So how can Timo (as said in the thread) have good results with the retina architecture under bootcamp + seven?

If it is a hardware issue, would apple do anything to fix us less fortunate people?

  • DellaNewToMac Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

I can unfortunately report on 10.8.1 This didn't get any better for me same symptoms.

This old issue—I have this problem since 2009—is not recognized by Apple nor will it ever be. I was about to buy a rMBP, but now, to hear this, Apple has shown its true colors. It's totally unacceptable, easily reproducable but noone at Apple cares. I've been to several 'geniuses' and thusfar all I got was shrugs and bills. I recently got a TimeMachinee and now every hour my BT or Wifi drops.

Apple has shown on numerous occasions that they are only into glorifying themselves. People with Steve W.'s mindset are punished for it or simply neglected. They do not deliver the quality you might expect at these increasingly insane prices.

Still no soloution from Apple on this problem?
Just got a Macbook Pro with Retina display today, and having problem when using WiFi and Bluetooth Magic Mouse together. Internet will drop to 1 kb/s and normally it should be 3000 kb/s..

  • DellaNewToMac Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

The only solution I have got so far is to use 5GHZ network or not use bluetooth mouse.

Problem is markedly worse when I am plugged into Thunderbolt display as well...

Reseller advised "Not a known problem" and I have yet to hear from anyone that they have a rMBP that doesn't exhibit the problem, except for one guy in this thread that didn't see the same experience using Bootcamp.

Ironically Windows 7 might be the best operating system for this computer...

No, unfortunately Apple simply doesn't care to fix this problem (which is clearly fixable). They've stopped communicating about it, they don't release any updates, and it seems as if they're pretending it doesn't exist. 10.8.1 actually made it worse for me. It totally ruins the experience of such an amazing (and expensive comptuer). I'm very dissapointed in Apple.
