How do I put Applications folder on my Dock in Lion?

Dragging and dropping from the Mac HD isn't working. I'm using latest version of Lion on late MBP 13''.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Open the Mac HD in Finder and drag the Applications folder to the right side of the dock. Then right click the icon and select Display as folder.

I'm afraid it's not working ): The folder gets a ➕ on the desktop but not on the dock.

Silly me, it worked. Actually, the Applications folder had Address Book icon and I thought it wasn't getting added to the dock. Thanks for the help!

Edit: Looks like we cross posted. Glad that worked for you. 🙂

Drag it to the right side of the divider line and hold until the icons separate to drop.
