Can I trade in my 8gb iPhone 4 for a 16gb?

I just ordered an iPhone from Rogers and they told me it was going to be a 16gb but they are now sending an 8gb saying they don't sell 16gb anymore...They told me there was nothing they could do for me and that I should go to the apple store and see if they could upgrade it for me. Would I be able to trade in the 8gb phone for a 16gb? I am already spending so much money for this and am so frustrated with Rogers, would I be able to do this free of charge or pay at most $50 to get the new 16gb phone?

The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico my first language is Spanish. I do not speak English, however I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.

Apple is not here. Your best bet is to call an Apple Store directly and ask these questions. My guess is no. My guess is that you need to cancel the purchase from Rogers and buy directly from Apple, if a Rogers 16 GB iPhone is available from Apple.

That doesn't seem quite right. At least in the US, both AT&T

and Verizon purchased iPhones (or any phone for that matter

other than some Motorola devices) have a 30 day return/exchange/

dead-after-arrival policy. Why Rogers would be any different is beyond me.

I would get in touch with a different person at Rogers if I were you.

You should't have to deal with Apple at all until after

the "grace" period for anything.

The logical answer is the price difference in the two models, but looking at the Apple Store website for Canada, Apple appears to only sell unlocked iPhones, which go for full price.

But the Apple Store may not let you "return" a Rogers subsudized iPhone that you bought directly from Rogers. So again, that is a question that you should ask Apple directly.
