Poor audio Samsung SII videos - MBP

Hi all,

First post, so i thought i'd start with something slightly confusing!

Yesterday, i bought a new MBP to replace my ailing 2006 MB. I've migrated all my data with no problem, everything is running sweet - I've only one problem, and thats coming with video playback!

I've a load of videos that visually play fine, but the audio is a variation of different buzzing sounds - awful!!

Drilling down further into the problem, i've made a few of observations...

a) all the videos in question were shot on my Samsung Galaxy S2

b) all the videos are in the phones HD 720 format, mp4 H.264 AAC

c) all play without issues on my old MB, the phone and my windows cr*ptop

d) it makes no difference on my new MBP whether i play the videos in QT, DIVX or preview

e) all videos with the problem were shot post my phone upgrading to Android ICS - not sure if this is signifcant though, as the files play fine on other machines - just not my new one 😟

I've tried a few things to remedy the issue, such as trasferring the videos to my MBP in different ways (over wifi, BT, USB), openning them on my old MB where they work, and saving them in QT in other file formats. Basically, nothing i've tried has made a difference.

I'm on 10.7.4 with the new MBP, the old MB is on 10.6.8

Any help at all would be massively appreciated! I was on holiday last month for 2 weeks, and my holiday videos are now unwatchable!

Cheers!

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), Samsung Galaxy SII
