What do you mean by inter hd is in use?
You wont be able to restore any machine while the drive is being used exclusively by another person or application, without stopping that first.
Your going to have to be more specific I am afraid.
I mean the computer's internal hard drive is running mac osx
I'm trying to restore my leopard retail install disks to my computers hd without pressing c key while booting
No. You have to boot from the DVD in order to install (or reinstall) Mac OS X 10.5.
I just restored the DVD onto internal hard drive
What is going to happen now? Will I have leopard installed?
What is going to happen now depends on how you did the installation.
Yes, you should have Leopard installed now.
Restoring the DVD to the Hard Dive wont work unless you restored it to a different Partition, you then could boot holding Option key, choose the HDD Partition that to boot from, then Install OSX to a Different Partition.
