You wont be able to restore any machine while the drive is being used exclusively by another person or application, without stopping that first.
Your going to have to be more specific I am afraid.

Jul 17, 2012 6:53 PM in response to Lester1234by BDAqua,Restoring the DVD to the Hard Dive wont work unless you restored it to a different Partition, you then could boot holding Option key, choose the HDD Partition that to boot from, then Install OSX to a Different Partition.
