Airprint is preinstalled i guess you can say. You just have to make sure your printer is an airprint printer. Look on the apple site for compatiable ones. If not, like with mine, I have the airport base station(apple router) which has a usb to plug into your printer. I can print off any device now wirelessly. that is an option.
AirPrint is part of the iOS. You don't have to install anything. If you have an Airprint capable printer it should appear in the printer list when using Airprint.
The print option will be in the top right corner under share. You will see print and it will scan for capable printers. Its displayed under an email, document, webpage etc.
