iMac 2010 shuts down during net restore

Hi,

I am trying to create a NetRestore image of Snow Leopard 10.6.8 so it can be rolled out to our other iMacs within the College

In 2010 I created a NetRestore image successfully using a standard iMac Snow Leopard 10.6.3, adding required software etc and then used System Image Utility to create a clone of the volume. I then copied the nbi\dmg file to our Mac Mini Server into Library/Netboot/NetbootSP0. I then successfully imaged our iMacs using the Mac Mini Server and NetBoot service.

Fast forward to 2012, time to update the image. I imaged one of the iMacs with the 2010 image and then updated the required software etc, Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I then went through the same process of cloning the volume using SIU and adding it to the Library/Netboot/NetbootSP0 folder. I then tried to image one of our machines with the new image but after the the spinning globe appeared, then the spinning circle the iMac shutdown completely.

I have searched online and found a a couple of articles http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3665 I tried this but it didn't work. I guessed it wouldn't as it's talking about an older version.

I also tried this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3665 but when I tried to download the update the server admin tools on our Mac Mini Server, (configured as RAID 1) I got a message saying that the admin tools had top be installed on the same volume as Mac OSX. The Mac Mini Server is running OSX Server 10.6.8.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
