Why does M5 resolution differ from other apps?

Hi

I've created a file at 1200 x 900 resolution in Motion 5. Yet when I import other files created in other apps using the same 1200 x 900 resolution they are always smaller than the Motion 5 canvas - and by (more or less) the same amount each time. Four different apps can't all be wrong can they?
