I move from the states to work in Bangkok, Thailand. I had my Mac ship with me. Due to the different voltage use here in Bangkok. I have to connect both my Mac and the monitor to a power converter 220v to 120v 500 W. when I turned my Mac on. It would just display a blinking world I con in the middle of the screen. And wouldn't go anywhere from there. What should I do? Please help.

It's looking for a network. Open Startup Disk preferences, select your startup volume, click on the Restart button.
BTW, your Mac's power supply autoswitches. You don't need a power converter for it. You just need a wall outlet adaptor for the power plug.
