Q: iBook G3 Clamshell wifi password problems

Hi, I have a 300mhz 10.3.9 iBook clamshell that won't connect to my wifi. It's saying my password is incorrect. This password works on my macbook pro and other computers, but not on the iBook. I haven't used it in awhile, but I know for sure the last time I did it worked fine. Can someone help? Thanks.

Mac OS X (10.3.x)

    Hello,

Is your security setting WEP ? This often happens when the security inscription is too advanced for the Airport Card to use, for example WPA2, which just wont work with your iBook Clamshell.

Another thing to try is resetting the PMU of your iBook. Here is a link to help you:

Thanks for your help. I tried resetting, but yeah, it looks like the problem is my security setting. Last time I used it I must've not had my password set. I used the clamshell for writing in recent years and then I would email the document to my other computer. Seems like those days have somewhat come to an end. Oh well, it served me well for over a decade. Thanks again!

    You're welcome.

You can change your wireless security settings from WPA2 to WEP easily in the router's admin. That's what I done with my home network in order for me to use my Clamshell over wireless. Providing you have some security on your wireless, it wont matter too much. There are other methods, like adding an old wireless router to your home network and have duel wireless routers. You can still use your clamshell for witting and sync with your MacBook either by direct Ethernet connection or simply using a Ethernet to your router. Either way you do it, I am sure your Clamshell can still live on.

    All the best
