HELP! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO UNINSTALL LIMEWIRE OR SIGN ON TO AOL!!!

Hello all! I need serious help. I've installed Limewire, but I have no idea how to uninstall it. I don't want it anymore. I'm afraid it has given me a virus or something terrible that I won't be able to get rid of. And another thing, my AOL won't open anymore. I've restarted my iBook many times, but after the blue screen for AOL comes up and the percentage goes up to 100%, the entire box just disappears and I'm left looking at my background. Please help, anyone! Thank you.

Hi,
Just drag limewire to the trash. I'm not sure what the issue is with your AOL. You might also drag AOL to the trash, and go to www.versiontracker.com, download the latest verison and reinstall it.

Thank you for your help; however, I have tried dragging it into the trashcan and a box pops up that reads, "Limewire cannot be put into the trashcan because it is open." To the best of my knowledge, Limewire is not open. I'm completely lost.

Hi,
Limewire my have installed to automatically start when you turn on your computer. Open limewire and then go to File and click Disconnect. Now try to drag it to your trash.

Let me know if this works.

Hey Alli 🙂

Try restarting your computer, then dragging Limewire to the trash.

If that doesn't work, you can also check Activity Monitor to see if Limewire is running.
Activity Monitor is in the "Applications" folder under "Utilities" Use Activity Monitor to Stop Limewire if it is running.

Hi Alli,
I found this, it might help.

Look in your Applications folder for Limewire. If it's there, drag to trash.

Then look here;

user>library>Application Support

If Limewire is there, trash it.

Then do a Find on your System for 'Limewire' and 'LW' to see if anything is left.

I thank each of you for helping me! I'm far less frustrated now that I finally got rid of Limewire. Now I'll work on trying to reinstall AOL. Again, thanks for your help!
