iPhone 4 to Entourage 2008/Gmail syncing

My job uses Gmail. I'm not a fan forward mail to Entourage 2008. I now have an iPhone 4. When I move a message to trash on my iPhone, that action is reflected when I view my Gmail account, but it isn't reflected in Entourage's inbox. What am I missing?
