Q: Grey Screen & Missing Icons
I recently shut down my Macbook Pro (10.7.4) and when I turned it back on it expierenced White & Grey Screen. After I resolved using this forum, I found that some App icons and system icons are missing, plus top bar where time is keeps restarting.
Also this is what I get when I turn on my Macbook Pro.

plus top bar where time is keeps restarting.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

Now use this free utility Download AppCleaner for Mac to uninstall CleanMyMac. Third party cleaning utilities are not necessary on a Mac and do more harm than good. Your Mac runs maintenance for you. Mac OS X: About background maintenance tasks
Then restart your Mac. If you continue to have problems, CleanMyMac may have removed necessary system files it shouldn't have.
Use Lion Recovery to reinstall the Mac OS X.
