Burn double layer disc image to a single layer dvd?
This might be a very stupid question, but let me explain my situation:
I have just under 1 hour and 20 minutes of 1920 x 1080 HD video exported from FCE (quicktime movie, not conversion) and imported into an iDVD project. I changed my project info to Professional Quality, Single-Layer Disc and chose Save As Disc Image, and the resulting file is under 4.7GB, able to fit on a single-layer DVD.
When I open the disc image file in DVD Player, the quality looks low-res. I know that there is some loss of quality for DVD compression, but I want to get the maximum quality possible for this project.
So, I went back into the iDVD project info, switched to Dual-Layer Disc, and the arrow indicating quality went towards a greener area of the scale (indicating better quality), but the file size stayed under the 4.7GB limit for single layer DVDs.
My question is this: If I Save As Disc Image at this point, would I be able to burn the resulting disc image to a single layer DVD?
