iTunes preview only lasts 18 seconds on os x 10.7.4

So I've searched all the forums for this issue but they are all resolved on Windows XP and not Mac OS X. When I preview a song in iTunes, the sample cuts off after about 18 seconds. Is there anything I can do in OS X 10.7.4 to fix this?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
