Does the Radeon HD 4550 1GB work with Mac Pro 2008?
My Vid card died, and have a spare, does this card work in a 2008 model Mac Pro.

So this card is NOT going to work?
No and the easy solution is one with Apple EFI ROMs - ATI 5770 $249 but it does require you are running 10.6.5+

Well thank you for takeing the time to answer the question. I am a newly converted mac user, been pretty knowledgeable on the PC side. Learning the Mac world.
And I am running Lion on the Mac Pro right now.
With Lion there are a couple more / better options and 10.8 should open the door to Nvidia GTX cards. There has been improvement in support. Drivers are always a step behind and the "Apple tax" higher price for same hardware.
