is the Retina Macbook Pro worth it

I have the late 2011 Macbook Pro 15" intel core i7 2.4 ghz quadcore 128 gb ssd and 16 gb of ram. i saw the macbook pro retinas novabench score and is 1087, mines is 1084.. it makes no sense to me the new one being almost the same speed. is it worth selling mines and upgrading? well i love the new external features. thank you in advance.

Just taken delivery of updated MBP 15, 2.6ghz, i7 ivy bridge, 2x4gb RAM, 1TB, hi-res glossy. Shipped in 1 week and it is awesome. Runs Parallels, window 8 with Office 2010 with no OSX degradation at all. Save your cash by not buying a retina MBP and you will not be disappointed. Apple never made a rubbish display for MBP just make sure you spec the high res, it is jaw dropping.

The slick marketing men make everyone start to believe that non retina is inferior, blurred and so yesterday - it is not! Wait a few years until retina burn in issues, ghosting and viability of internal hardware all glued up to make it lighter are ironed out - the retina is best left to the early adopters........the 'look at me, I got it first' brigade.
