When I try to change my transition time it stays on 0.1s, help!

Right, so when i add a transition to a still image i adjust the time to what i want, when i press done, it doesn't seem to change the time. Now I have tried turning the automatic transition off, changing the project properties. Almost EVERYTHING it's really annoying. But on some transitions it changes them and the time is coloured white, whereas the transitions I cannot change the times are a dark yellow. Does this mean it is a locked time? My still images range from 0.1s to 0.6s. Please Help! I'm using imovie 11.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), imovie 11

I'm just now seeing your question because I have just now come across this issue.

It is a strange glitch in the software. However, I just got it to work, and here is what I did.

1. Open iMovie Preferences from the menu bar.

2. Change the default duration for Transitions to 5.0 seconds.

3. Add your transition to your timeline.

4. Double-click on the transition to change the transition to the duration you need.

5. Press <ENTER>, and your transition will be applied.

When I try to change my transition time it stays on 0.1s, help!
