Model: PowerMac6,4, BootROM 4.9.2f1, 1 processors, PowerPC G4  (1.5), 1.42 GHz, 256 MBI suspect one of the updates demanded more RAM than its predecessor. You have 256MB RAM, the barest minimum for Panther 10.3, and definitely under the real-world min for Tiger 10.4.11. You need at least 512MB for decent performance with Tiger.You have the last-generation Mac with excellent hardware for its day and it can hold more RAM than the 1GB (2 x 512MB modules) that Apple wrote in its now-outdated specs for your model. With the right RAM you can handle up to 2GB RAM.If you are in North America, I can provide a link to a vendor of the newer 1GB modules that are 100 percent Mac-compatible. "Just any old module" may not work. My wife has the same model as you that came with 256MB RAM but, with the newer module, now has the original 256MB PLUS a big 1GB module for a totla of 1.25GB RAM. It is the most stable computer in teh house (we have a lot of Macs).I do not see any red flags other than low RAM in your crash report, so I think adding RAM might make your old eMac feel younger for about US$25.

I&#x27;ve bought tons of stuff including about 80 percent of our RAM from OWC but shipping from Illinois to Idaho is not too much of an issue.Cheaper than a few years ago which made me think it was pretty reasonable.I was also remembering some posts from ten years ago about "happy with product" but "sad about shipping cost" when overseas users ordered from OWC. I think part of it is that the big shippers here--UPS and FedEx--are now so globally entrenched that everyone is enjoying the economy of scale they have achieved.I ran the Crucial UK price with VAT through a currency convertor and it comes up to about US$71 for two 1GB modules. I never realized how hard VAT hits until we traveled to Ireland last May. VAT was about 19% in Northern Ireland and 23% in the Republic.
