I'm running Lion 10.7.4 on an i7 imac mid 2011. I could not get mail today and when I went to the account the incoming server and my password were missing. The outgoing server field is locked and I can't fix it. I have a backup using CCC and updated my backup yesterday, not sure if that had anything to do with it but it happened soon after I updated. If I start up on the cloned drve the account informatiuon is there. Anyone have a suggestion?

Delete the account and recreate it.
You'd think this would work, but it doesn't. The field is still locked has no incoming server listed in it.
In the Add Account dialog, enter the information, then hold down the option key and click Continue. Finish setting up the account manually.

Thanks for your help, but although this let me put in an incoming server, when it created the accout it was gone. I pulled out the "accounts.plist" to start anew. It come up with a create an account dialog, but the same thing happens, it wipes out the server I put in. I've moved to Postbox, an alternative mail cleint.
