Q: When listening to podcasts the last 2-8 seconds of the audio are skipped. How can I get my Shuffle to play the file to the end??

I load my iPod (Shuffle 4G) with a bunch of podcasts and a playlist to determine the sequence of play. As the playback comes near to the end the Shuffle skips to the next podcast without playing the last few seconds. I've reviewed the original files in iTunes and they are complete. The amount skipped varies from 1 or 2 seconds to as much as 6. How can I stop this from happening??

iPod shuffle, Windows XP

Make sure you have done a Reset since noticing this problem

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655

If that does not help, I would do a Restore on the shuffle, using iTunes.  Select shuffle in iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES, and go to Summary tab for the Restore button.  This will erase the shuffle, reinstall the latest software, and set it to default settings.  If there was some software, settings, or data corruption issue on the shuffle, Restore should fix it.  Then, reload a small number of podcasts as a test to see if the problem recurs.

I tried the on/off switch to do a reset and that did not help. However, after doing a restore and reloading the files it seems to be working as one would expect. Good call.
