Q: What fire wire cable works with a Mac Mini as the host and a Mac Book as the target. I bought a cable 800/800 and it doesnt work

Updated my mac mini and mac nook with snow leopard now shows version 10.6.8.  I bought a fire wire cable to use to transfer  files such as the internet

using mac mini as a host and mac book as the target.  the fire wire cable is a 800/800 and the ports are not the same. What should I have bought?
