when i go to sync my iPhone with iTunes it says there is not enough free smace to download anything... does this mean i will never be able to download anything else via iTunes to my phone?

iPhone 4 (8GB), iOS 5.1.1

    Check your storage at Settings>General>About to see how much room you have left.

    You will also want to check your sync options on iTunes. You may be trying to sync a large file or folder you werent meaning to.

    it is telling me i need 234 MB in order to complete the sync. how do i get those MB without deleting any data off my iPhone?

    You don't.  Like a computer's hard drive, once it's full, then it's full.  Unfortunately, for an iOS device, you can't add more memory to it, so you'll have to start deleting stuff you least want to make room.
