Copy and paste DO NOT WORK

Sorry, I'm busting into this conversation. I just recently upgraded 2013 macbook air to sierra. I copied text from a youtube comment i was still composing. I successfully highlighted text, then ctl/clk drop down menu clikcked copy. Went to notes/new note: clicked drop down menu and paste was not highlit. So it copied but does not paste.

What are you doing that does not work for you?

Tap and hold down to select text.

Drag the blue bars as needed

Tap Copy

Go to where you want to paste the text.

Tap and hold down on the screen and select Paste

Copying text y be difficult at times. Sometimes it des not even work, and sometimes it does. Tap hold into the selected text, until a blue bar over the word comes. You can expand with the blue dots top and bottom from the sdes of the blue highlighter. Click copy. Go in a text bar, and tap and hold until you see Paste.

What and how have you tried to copy and paste?

Please describe the action you take on your iPad and the application you are using when this occurs so we can try and replicate your problem.

Some applications do not allow copy and paste, for instance, Videos can be copied due to their copyright protections, Safari often does not allow direct copying for similar reasons - these and others are built into the applications. Perhaps you have run into one of them?

Often the option to Paste does not appear until you double tap. Have you seen the "Paste" option and then nothing appears? Were you able to select text or images or shapes and find the "Copy" option?

As far as not charging, have you tried using a differnt cable? Are you sure your charger is a 10W charger? Are you trying to charge through a USB connection to your Mac?

I think that I covered both of these in my posts and got no cooperation.

Valiant effort. However, this person doesn't actually seem to want help. Or. possibly, they have a serious reading comprehension problem as they still seem to think they are adressing Apple. I'm going to go help nicer people now.

Have you tried a power-down reset? This should clear the buffer.

Try this:

Hold both the Home and Sleep Buttons until you see the Shutdown Slider, Shut down the iPad. Wait a minute or two then turn ON your iPad - it will take a moment to startup. Try to copy and paste something new now.

Results?

Clearly you do care otherwise you wouldn't be here having a childish temper tantrum and refusing to answer other users questions so that they can offer you help.

Sounds like you need to go on an anger management course, or just to simply grow up.

And as you've already been told numerous times - APPLE ARE NOT HERE.

So, even if you turn OFF your iPad, the copy/paste buffer does not clear?

The next step is to reset the iPad by connecting to iTunes, doing a backup and then a complete Reset and Restore. Have you done that?

Have you replaced any cables or power supplies since you noted the spotty charging?

Please immediately head to your nearest computer/electronics store and purchase an HP computer running Windows 7. You will be eligible for the Windows 8 upgrade when it comes out. Then, later this year, but the Windows Surface with Windows 8.

After you get both of these use the browser on it and look up "Professional Counselor" and "Anger Management". Copy the directions, paste them into Word and then drive to your appointment.

BTW, my iPad charges just fine and I have no problems with copy and paste unless a particular website had blocked the ability to do so.

Sorry all but Jodie is correct. I have the same problem. Copy and paste doesn't work correctly . It used to but now just pastes the same old thing I copied weeks ago. Cant clear it . Tried everything. Internet suggested reboot. Doesn't work. It's a real issue as I use it all the time.

But there are some limitations - depending on the context - and it is possible there is an issue with your iPad. If you you describe the context, what apps you are using Nd how you are going about it, someone may be able to help you.
