Q: Aperture will not export.

I have been using Aperture since it was launched. Two weeks ago it just stoped exporting images.

Anyone have an idea why?

No I have not moved the source files.

I have done this the same way for years.

    in what way did it stop exporting?

     

    Do you get an error message? Is the "Export" menu option not available? Is it pretending to export, but you do not see exported files?

     

    Before you try exporting again, launch the "Console" window (from Applications > Utilities) and also open  Aperture's Activity viewer (Window > Show Activity).

     

    Then look, if you see any messages while trying to export.

    I edit the images as I always have then select all and choose export. I choose one of my presets and hit export. The program shows the progress at the bottom left with the spinning wheel. It looks like everything is working fine. However, no files are exporting. and the program is locked. I have let it go for hours. Nothing.

    I have relocated the files, made new presets, new folders, restarted from import, even tryed to reinstall the app.

    I cant go back to an older version as the folder will not open. I am using 3.3.1 on a Mac Pro 8core with 28gb ram. Several GB of disk space.

    It is forcing me to us LR. And that program *****.

    Thanks for your help. I will check the console now and see what it says.

    Have you done the steps in Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics

     

    Always  a good  place to start if you're getting strange behavior such as this.
