" The document left a blank space after a few lines of text and I cannot find the way to eliminate that blank space"
Following up on Peter's earlier reply:
You eliminate that 'blank' space by removing whatever is in it. As Peter suggests, it could contain a Page Break or a Section Break. Either of these will cause a 'blank' that extends to the end of the page.
Other possibilities are a series of Line breaks or Paragraph breaks. These could also (if there enough of them) cause a 'blank' extending to the bottom of the page, but are more likely to cause a smaller gap (if there are fewer than there are space for below the existing text.
Here are three things you can do to help you see what you have actually put on the pages:
- Go View (menu) > Show invisibles. This makes visible the formatting characters in the text, as displayed in your first screen shot)
- Go View > Show Layout. This will show margin settings and outlines of each object on the pages.
- Click on any object (eg. image or text box) once to select it. Handles (x for locked, boxes for unlocked) will appear at the four corners and the midpoint of each side of the space occupied by each object in the document.
Once the contents or cause of that 'blank' space are visible, it's usually a simple job to remove those contents.
