Firewire to USB for mid 2010 Macbook Unibody?

I am currently looking for a cheaper alternative to paying $200 to purchase a Happauge PVR to record my xbox gameplay and chat, and I feel there may be a way by plugging my xbox into my HD Cable box, then using the 6 pin Firewire out, to my Macbook. Althought the only problem I have is I do not have a firewire port. I have looked for firewire to USB cables and all I could find was this one and I'm not entirely sure if that would work or not. If there are any other alternatives or if anybody has suggestions to a cheaper PVR please reply.
