how can i reset to factory settings my macbook pro keeping my microsoft office application

My sister gave me her old macbook pro mid 2010 model but i want to reset it into factory setting for a fresh new start but i want to keep the microsoft office 2011 application. what should i do?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

After an erase and a clean install of the OS, you're still going to have to reinstall MS Office 2011 and have your activation key handy. Be certain that you have a backup of your "Microsoft User Data" located in your Documents folder, or you'll lose settings, email, etc. If necessary, just be sure to back it up to a DVD or USB flash drive (the flash drive would be faster).
