Best thing to do is to back up your drive before you proceed.

Mac OS XAfter an erase and a clean install of the OS, you're still going to have to reinstall MS Office 2011 and have your activation key handy. Be certain that you have a backup of your "Microsoft User Data" located in your Documents folder, or you'll lose settings, email, etc. If necessary, just be sure to back it up to a DVD or USB flash drive (the flash drive would be faster).

Mac OS X@Bimmer - yeah, read all 12 pages! If you can get them for $350CA, I'd do it.
