I have a folder on my desktop that has a yellow label on adn a little curvy arrow pointing to the bottom left hand corner . . . . why? How do I get rid of it? And would it be stopping me uploading folders to my wensite?

It sounds like an alias pointer to another folder. You can check by right clicking the icon and selecting Get Info.
If it's an alias pionter, you can just drag it to the trash.
Yes, you can color the label by right clicking the icon and selecting a color at the bottom.
When you double click the icon the folder it points to should open in Finder. The path to the folder should display at the bottom of the finder window.
Thank you CaptFred . . . found the original . . . . must have been playing with the colours as an Office Project and transferred the original file there as well . . . Oh Dear . . . but I learnt a few other things on the way as well . . . . :}
That solves the arrow thank you . . . I can see it on another folder which is an alias also. . . BUT I can't find the original of this folder and if I trash it I lose all the material . . . O me miserum . . . don't suppose you'd know why it has a yellow background to the label while none of my other folders do? . . . :}
