How to backup my contacts (iPhone 4s)?

Hi everyone!

I recently got a new iPhone 4s, and I want to know the easiest and most reliable way to backup my contacts. I tried the Google Mail method and everytime I sync it just either creates duplicates or when I delete someone on my iphone, it gets deleted on the Gmail account, so whats the use if it gets deleted from Gmail too?

Any other easy ways to back up my contacts? My mom lost all her contacts a few months ago and since then I'm searching for a good way to back them up. Please help people!

Thanks! 🙂

I use both a Dropbox backup App and an App that backs up my Contacts to an Excel spreadsheet file as well. That way I have backups in two different formats. Push come to shove in a complete iPhone meltdown, I'll at least be able to get to my contacts information via the spreadsheet.

Apple recommends that contacts are synced with a desktop system, such as Outlook on PCs, etc., but my contacts on my iPhone have both personal and work entries but I sync my iPhone with a computer at home and so I can't sync the phone to my work Outlook files.

Anyway, these dual backup Apps seem to work for me so far.
