Trouble shooting flashing "special characters" screen on my MacBook. Restarting, Shutting down, removing and placing battery again does not stop it. The flashing screen is blank with a turning gear as if loading, but it does not.
I need help with troubleshooting for flashing "special characters" screen on my MacBook with Snow Leopard. The screen flashes regardless of what app is on; it is as if it is trying to load but it does not. Is there a duplicate or conflicting file in the system that should be deleted? Where would it be?
