Q: Hooking up a new monitor to a PowerMac G5 Tower

Hello All.  I have ten PowerMac G5 Dual 1.8GHz towers that currently use the 17" Apple Studio Displays via the ADC video port.  These computers and monitors are 8 years old.  I would like to purchase new 21.5" monitors, and run them through the DVI port.  The new monitors come with only a VGA cable, and I do have the DVI to VGA adaptors.  I would prefer to go straight with a DVI-DVI cable, bypassing any need for a VGA connector.

Will there be any improvement by using a DVI-DVI cable over the VGA to adaptor?  If so, do I need to have a particular type of DVI-DVI cable, such as single link or double link?

I am running OS 10.5.8, and have the original video card in these.  I have used a 17" Dell monitor with success that used the original DVI cable that came with the unit.

Thanks in Advance!   .....  Paul
