Hopefully someone can help! I'm trying to move video files from our Sony AVCHD camcorder to my Macbook Pro, but the video files aren't showing up as avi or mpeg or what they are supposed to be, they are showing up as JPG files and not allowing me to play them. They play fine on the camcorder so they are movie files. Thanks in advance.

What format are the videos?
How are you importing them?
Where do you see these Jpegs?
Version 9.2.1 of iPhoto, I'm unsure of the exact video types they are supposed to be as they will not appear as movie files on my laptop at all. I'm importing via the memory card slot in the side of my Mac. The JPEGS appear where the video files should be as soon as the camera files open in iPhoto. They should be movie files of some sort but they are not.
If you know the camera model it's possible to find out what format movies it shoots.
