Hi. I just bought me an used and older version of Powerbook G4... But i got a problem with it. When i turn it on it starts normaly and boots the OS up , but than the problem starts as soon as the OS is up the laptop freezes...i can move the mouse but when i try clickin on smtg it doesnt work....cant start anything

Maybe this has smtg to do witht he problem after the system boots up there are 2 things that come up

1. says time is wrong

2.Initializing modem.......like i said even if i wanted to do smtg about this , i cant  click or change anything

    Hello,

One of the first thing I would do is just reset the PMU. Here is a link on how to do that.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1431?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

It also sounds like the PRAM battery in your PowerBook needs to be replaced. Changing that could also help.

The initializing modem may fix itself when you reset the PMU and replace the PRAM.

If all above fails you could try and repair the disk using the system disk for Mac OS 9.

However in this instance I maybe inclined to upgrade the PowerBook to Mac OS X with Classic support. So something like 10.4 Tiger may be work better.

    Best of luck.
